Orlando´s Running in New Zealand |

This fun run follows the old Upper Hutt to Featherston Fell Railway line
through the Rimutaka Ranges. The gradient is no greater than 1 in 15,
rising from 240m above sea level at the start to 360m at 10km, dropping
over the next 5km to 60m and then 2km on the flat to the finish at Cross Creek
(near Lake Wairarapa). The surface is in very good condition. It is a scenic
and historic route, which can be negotiated by any reasonably fit runner or walker.
On the day the conditions were great. Except for some drizzle short after the start it was dry and there was a tail wind all the way! During the prizegiving in front of the Fell Engine Museum in Featherston the sun came out! So, if you see most of us wearing warm and protective gear, this is because the weather in the area is unpredictable and conditions can change rapidly. |
